Inspiration can come from just about anything. That inspiration can be color, texture, a mood, a feeling, you name it. I saw this pop and was immediately inspired by the amazing bold colors. I also thought it had a super summery feel to it. I created this based on both color and feeling, a cool summery collection with brilliant hues. Who wouldn't want to look as cool as that pop?

What does she make? Dominique creates work in a variety of tactile mediums and combines digital creation with analog output for both exhibitions and publications, I particularly enjoy her pin and string work shown above.
Who does she create this for? Dominique has created work for Wired Magazine, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coca-Cola, and a ton of other notables.

Thoughts... This looks so time consuming and tedious. When I first saw Dominique's work it was the first image above, with no close ups. I thought it was beautiful, but I had no idea this was made of all pins and string. Once I realized, I was in serious awe. I am particularly drawn to the I could do anything... piece. Dominique describes it as "part of a two-page book project. On the left it says I could do Anything… and then for the second part, I unwound I could do anything and then re-nailed and wound If only I could decide what it was to show the pain of how creative people chop and change their minds all the time. You can see the pin holes from I could do anything if you look closely enough." I relate all too well to constantly changing my mind when I create things. Nothing is ever finished. It can always be better... it can make you go crazy, really. I really love that she did that. This accent nail trend is hot right now. It adds a pop to a plain polish manicure. Glitter, prints, stripes, or a solid complimentary color all work for this. It's sort of like jewelry, an extra splash to your look. So what do you think, love it or lose it?

I really love a nice comfortable pair of flats. They are perfect to dress up a casual outfit a little or great if you just aren't in the mood for heels. I have been seeing so many cap-toe flats lately that I would love to dip my toes into. In New England the weather is so inconsistent at this time of year. It's warm somedays, but rainy others, flats are the perfect answer and all these cap-toes are classy and fresh looking.

Johnny Cupcakes clothing, known for their cupcake inspired t-shirts with cupcakes and crossbones, just released this awesome packaging for their latest t-shirt drop. The paint cans are designed to look like used frosting containers complete with playful nutrition facts and "frosting" running over the top. Each can contains your flavor tee, available in chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. Word is the cans are even scented! How cool? What a clever, fun packaging idea!

MIXING IT UP {COLOR}

Pink and red are two colors I never thought went together. I thought you were supposed to match it, not clash it! Recently, I have been seeing pink and red paired together and it is really starting to grow on me. In fact, I kind of love it. I love color, but when it comes to clothing, I usually try to play it safe. I have been trying to experiment with wearing more colors and playing with the not so typical combinations of color. Pink and red is a definite must try combo for me now!

Neon is back! I am so pumped for this. I love over the top bright colors, so I am absolutely loving this 80's revival. Whether you wear just a splash as an accessory or a bold bright blazer, wearing neons definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Are you into this 80's neon look?

Nail art seems to making a super come back these days. I have to admit I am not too fond of it, but I have definitely always been a fan of the classic french manicure. I also love me some bright colors and will never say no to a bold polish choice. With the return of neon in just about everything, I am really liking the neon tip look. I am always looking for a new accessory and I love adding a fun pop to my outfits. Ban.do specializes in just that and they just released their new spring/summer collection. I am obsessing over their silk pom pom flowers. They come in two sizes and a bunch of really gorgeous colors. You can wear them or put them just about anywhere, in your hair, on your plain tee, on your tote bag, you name it. They add a nice splash of color to any look. PACKAGING {MARY AND MATT}

Easter is this weekend, and whether you celebrate it or not, you can't go anywhere without seeing candy. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I can't help but want chocolate around this time. All the candy you can grab at the store might be delicious, but does it look this amazing? I love how homemade it all looks, it makes you think somebody personally made it just for you and the chocolate inside too! Both the gorgeous packaging and the chocolate are made by Mary and Matt of Chocolate Editions. I think this packaging might just be the key to laying off the chocolate, it looks too good to eat! Well... almost!

As you can tell I have a slight obsession with polka dots. I also love when unexpected things are put together. Lately, I have been seeing more mixed geometric patterns, especially polka dots and stripes. I think these opposites really will attract! {TOPSHOP COSMETICS} PACKAGING

I am seriously the biggest sucker for nice packaging. They say you should never judge a book by its cover, but when I see nice packaging I almost always buy it hoping it will be as amazing as it looks. I am obsessed with this Topshop beauty packaging, I love that it all looks hand drawn, so fun. I am even more obsessed with the photo styling on the right side, like little works of art. I want all of this, the products, and prints of the styling. Are you guilty of buying a product solely on how the package looks?
